Hello,

I am delighted that you have decided to browse The PM Space. I do hope that you find it both interesting and a potential source of help in your career.

I developed The PM Space in response to a need which I perceived was not being addressed in the realm of project management: a systemic approach to the development and practical support of members in the project management community, especially for those who operate as professional contractors to the wider business community. There is far too much emphasis on micro certifications and not nearly enough on knowledge and experience.

I have both operated as, and directly hired, project management contractors, during which time I have witnessed, first-hand, how those in contract positions are not properly supported by the firms that place them there.

The PM Space therefore sets out to provide you with access to all the tools you need to develop your career: a Learning Space, with courses from beginner to professional; a Knowledge Space of articles on methods, processes and engagement panels; and a Practice Space with practice notes, guides and downloadable templates. In addition, there is a Community Forum that is by project managers, for project managers. And lastly, there is an optional one-to-one Support Service if required, on all things project management related.

These resources will continue to grow, contributed by my colleagues and myself, but also driven by the priorities that you yourselves can drive, through your Community Forum. And no more weighing up cost against benefit either: for the average price of one online course elsewhere, membership of The PM Space covers ALL courses, and members will continue to receive access to new materials as part of their existing subscription.

All of this in just one space, The PM Space. Come and join us!

Ian,
Dublin, Ireland
