The Learning Space <- Understanding Complex Projects
Not all projects lend themselves to a linear progression from concept to reality. The uncertain nature of some projects can result in lack of clarity, understanding or objective. Even if the goal is understood, the method of achieving it may not be, as factors such as resistance, environment, competition, technology and politics can all play their part in undermining it.
This course is designed for experienced project managers who are ready to move up to the next level in their understanding of the project environment, and grow their skills to tackle this level of complexity.
This course presumes the attendee has a firm grasp and some practical experience of projects at a management level, as the underlying project methods will not be explained in any detail. If you are uncertain, try our “Foundation Project Management” or “Practical Project Management” courses to get you more acquainted.
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be better able to:
- Understand how to identify complex projects.
- Identify methods that will help you with complexity.
- Know how to apply methods based on your project understanding.
- Prepare a flexible plan based on those methods.
- Know how to interpret, define and respond to a complex project environment.
