The Function of a PMO Framework
The function of a Project Management Office (PMO) is to provide a portfolio-based approach to projects within an organisation, using a standardised approach to projects that offers direction, oversight, control and support, together with training & mentoring support to project personnel.
A PMO Framework is the means by which a standard Project Management methodology can be customised to suit an organisation’s project needs. By customising a methodology, instead of trying to replace it, a Framework allows for different underlying methods to be used, enabling skilled personnel from different project management backgrounds to quickly adapt.
